Mechanical Specifications:
Software compatibility
We are equipped to receive Postscript-compatible files in the following software packages:
- Adobe Illustrator (CS5 and earlier) Files should be saved in the “Illustrator EPS” or “AI” format. Convert all fonts to “Outlines”.
- Adobe Photoshop (CS5 or earlier) ALL images MUST be saved in either CYMK or grayscale colour modes. Resolution should be between 200 and 300 DPI. Dot bleed will occurr at 300 DPI. Files with very small text (6pt) should be saved and sent at 300 DPI. Files may be saved either as TIFF, JPEG, PNG, PSD, Ps EPS* or Ps PDF.
- Adobe PDF format. All type must be imbedded into the final document.
- Text can be sent in Microsoft Word or Simpletext. Pc/Wintel users should save their text as RTF (“Rich Text Format”) However we do not accept camera-ready ads in Word/Text format.
Please include a hardcopy of your ad with your submission or faxed to our office. Our fax number is (780) 426-2889. Alternatively we can accept a JPG proof of the ad so we can assure that the ad is as you expect and that none of the images, colours or fonts have fallen out of the file.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT WE DO NOT SUPPORT ANY OF THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS FOR COMPLETED ADS: Multi Ad Creator, Adobe Pagemaker, Corel Draw. Microsoft Word, Word Perfect.

Approved Technologies
Vue Weekly supports all major third-party ad-technology providers. Any costs that are associated with third-party ad serving will be the responsibility of the advertiser. Discrepancies may occur between Vue Weekly reporting and the third-party provider reporting. We adhere to the accepted guidelines for discrepancy resolution set forth by the IAB. Approved Formats
Vue Weekly supports Flash and Rich Media ad creative. Acceptable third-party ad tags can be Javascript or iFrames. Rich media must be third-party served. For optimal customer experience, only user initiated ad units that expand or play audio will be accepted. Vue Weekly does not allow pop-up ad formats at this time.

Removable media
We accept ad material on CD-ROM and DVD-ROM only. All media & cases should be clearly labeled with your company’s name and phone number. We assume no responsibility for these items after press date. DO NOT SEND THE ONLY COPY OF YOUR WORK!
Film
Film submissions are no longer accepted for advertising or imagery purposes.
Electronic submission / retrieval
Email ads/ad material to ads@vueweekly.com This method is only suitable for files under 20MB in size.
Please identify your ad in the email subject line along with a client name (who the ad is being inserted for, in the case of third party designers) and the issue date. Please compress your files using Stuffit or Zip if possible.
We can also retrieve files from any FTP site you have. Please submit access information to your advertising representative or email information to ads@vueweekly.com

Please inform your advertising representative that you will be using the VUE WEEKLY ftp site for ad submission. Upon file upload please send a confirmation email to ads@vueweekly.com stating the file name, client name, date/time of upload and contact information.
Alternative sending methods:
There are now several websites that provide free services that allow large file formats to be sent. Please feel free to send us your ad using file sharing sites such as yousendit.com wetransfer.com
Naming Conventions
The file names are extremely important! Please include a client name and/or job name along with the run date. Please avoid using file names such as vuead.jpg, vue.tif, vueweekly.ai, vue-ad.psd, etc. These are easier for us to lose track of in our filing system.
