Bestest hospital design

{embed="/"}

The atrium at the Royal Alexandra Hospital looks a lot like HUB Mall at the University except grander. While I usually find hospital settings rather dreary, the large glass windows at the Royal Alex with its glass arch ceilings allow as much sunlight as possible to enter the building. The streetlamps give the hospital a lovely metropolitan look while the grand piano and lounge chairs would make anyone feel like they’re chilling in a hotel lobby rather than in a hospital. And as much as porcelain dolls creep me out, the display of dolls dressed up as nurses in the atrium gives the hospital character and a sense of history.
