Bestest reason to brag about our education system

If you want to become a polyglot without having to move out of Canada, come to Edmonton. The second language programs in both Edmonton Public & Catholic Schools are so strong that delegates from other countries are visiting and studying how we teach languages so that they can get tips on how to kickoff their own programs. The Chinese government, for instance, was so impressed with Chinese Mandarin instruction in the city that they’ve signed an agreement with Edmonton school district officials to set up a Confucius Institute here to help promote and teach Chinese Mandarin. Students can get international certification for their knowledge of French, Mandarin, German, Japanese and Spanish. The kind of extensive second language and culture programs that Edmonton schools have is unheard of in other provinces or in the United States.
