How to Stuff a Turkey

Step 1:

If frozen, thaw turkey in the fridge. Depending on size this will take between 24 and 48 hours. For a standard 15 pound turkey expect closer to 48 hours. 

Step 2:

To prepare for the oven, wash your buzzard in cold water to ensure the cavity of the turkey is clean. The Gizzard is usually in the neck pouch and should be removed. If you wish to cook it, season and wrap in tinfoil to cook beside your turkey.

Step 3:

Lightly salt and season the inside of turkey and stuff. Do this just prior to putting it in the oven. Make sure to stuff in as much as possible—even in the neck cavity. 

Step 4:

Season the outside body of the turkey with salt and pepper, poultry seasoning and sage.


Your turkey is now ready for the oven! There are two ways to cook your turkey:


 

How to know that your turkey is done? You should be able to see the meat falling off the bone.
