Company: Erik de Waal
Directed by: Marie Kruger
Written by: Erik de Waal
Starring: Erik de Waal
With puppets, lots of physical comedy and energizing audience involvement, this show offers quality storytelling. The entertainment value is certainly there, due to de Waal’s skill in imparting different characters through vocal expression and his many puppets. In teaching the audience how to perceive and respond to bullies, one story models a good lesson, while the other story teaches why a certain animal can’t fly. In bringing the audience into the storytelling world, de Waal takes his time to immerse us, but the subsequent exiting is much shorter and feels a bit rushed. Regardless, the time spent in this storytelling world is delightful.
