Things That Make You Go Hoy!

Production info:

Company: BeeEss Productions
Written by: Rebecca Schellenberg
Starring: Rebecca Schellenberg

Things That Make You Go Hoy! is a poetry reading revolving around wordplay and the deft use of an accordion. The poetry draws primarily from snippets of overheard conversation, humourous imaginings about a hitchhiker with his own refridgerator to inner journeys imagined as drive through the body’s anatomy. The wordplay is clever and the daydreams draw you in to imagining everything from the anatomical roadside Tim Hortons to a deserted heavenly ghost town, stripped bare by fleeing angels. Each poem is drawn together with the accordion or the violin and there is a flow that almost mirrors a series of overheard conversations. It’s a different pace than most Fringe shows, a bit more laid back, but just as irreverent in its own way.
