This seven-piece from Montréal has come out with a bang on its debut album. The Fundamentals bring back the style of '90s horn-fuelled ska, laced with reggae, rock and a whole lot of soul. The feel-good record hits the mark as a cohesive collection of songs that moves seamlessly from one to the next, carrying the band's signature style without it becoming monotonous. Each track is strongly executed, weaving together complex instrumental arrangements with strong male-female harmonies.
