MayDay and the BeatCreeps
Local alt-folk-rap group MayDay and the BeatCreeps is set to drop its debut EP, We Are Little Volcanoes, but before taking the stage in front of a hometown crowd, band members Shane Ducharme and Wade Rimstad shared the band's Soundtrack picks with Vue.´
At home
Morning: The musician morning is usually around noon. That said, we like to have something upbeat and close to home. Corb Lund—his new album Cabin Fever in particular—usually does the trick.
Noon: I guess noon would be like 2 pm, or maybe 3 pm. Either way, we'll usually have Scenic Route to Alaska helping us through the hangovers.
Night: One evening a week is set aside for the band bubble bath and exfoliation sesh. We all crowd into the bathroom and scrub away our lingering worries and woes that compile over a week of hard playing. Obviously the soundtrack of the night is Aqua (not the new age Aqua but the "Barbie Girl" era Aqua). Goood times.
On the road
Morning: If we're lucky enough to be in radio range of CKUA, we'll be letting Baba spice up our morning however he sees fit.
Noon: By now, the crew's in need of a mid-day sing along, a pick-me-up that'll help bump up our folk-hop credibility and fan our ferocious confidence. Outkast ATLiens is the album of choice. "Me And you, yo momma and yo cousin too ... "
Night: Whether or not we've wheeled some ladies into the scenario by now, Bahamas will be playing through the speakers. He'll set the mood if we have, and help soothe our lonely hearts if we haven't. V
