New Country Rehab

The Toronto-based four-piece has become known for its unconventional instrumentation—known to include sawblades and cookie sheets—as well as its high-energy, alt-country sound. New Country Rehab is touring in support of its new album Ghost of Your Charms, and prior to its stop in Edmonton lead singer and fiddle player John Showman, stand-up bassist Ben Whiteley and guitarist James Robertson took a collaborative approach to Firsts, Lasts and Favourites.

James: I bought Guns N' Roses, Appetite For Destruction at age eight.

Ben: Raffi at six weeks old. (His dad Ken was in the band.)

We all went to see Jack White sidestage at his last Toronto show.
