Despite the implications in the album's title Dawn Landes's Sweet Heart Rodeo is at times folky, country at others, but always with some indie-pop flourishes throughout. The tripped out spirals on "Love" dissolve into the driving country of "Sweetheart of the Rodeo," and the record keeps on rolling across the landscape, cutting a fine and varied figure along the way.
