One of the true joys of live music is that feeling that comes over you when you’re lost in the moment. The spontaneous rush of knowing that the music is here, now, and in just a few moments it will be gone forever. And, while plenty of groups offer up a different version of their tunes on a recorded medium, the Digs’ music currently exists only in the moment, save for a few tracks on their MySpace page. But there’s nothing wrong with that when the moment is so damn good. Whether it was Phil Saylor Wisor pulling out some down home banjo pickin’, Sherry-Lee Wisor taking the crowd’s breath away with a lovely, haunting vocal, or Cam Neufeld dropping jaws with some old time fiddlin’, the Digs dug up plenty of moments to make you hope for an album soon. Until then, though, catch them at one of their shows around town and enjoy the moment. —EDEN MUNRO / eden@vueweekly.com
