On The Abbey Road Sessions Kylie Minogue celebrates the 25-year anniversary of her debut Australian single with orchestral reworkings of tracks spanning her career. Some work (the smoky piano of "Better the Devil You Know" and the stinging strings and drums of "Can't Get You Out of My Head") and some don't (the misplaced pop of "The Locomotion"), but "Where the Wild Roses Grow," her duet with Nick Cave, stands out, utterly devastating as far as murder ballads go. For the most part, the record is unassuming and floats ethereally in the background, but the compelling darkness of that track is unavoidable.
